February 1, 2024: We are very excited to see that our research paper on the order Physarales, recently published in Persoonia, has inspired the cover of its latest issue. In this study, which presents an updated phylogenetic classification of Physarales, we included molecular data for Badhamia foliicola, an extraordinarily gorgeous species characterized by its iridescent sporocarps veined with white lime.
Its mesmerizing beauty immediately attracts everybody’s attention, so no wonder that an amazing picture by Carlos de Mier has been selected to illustrate the cover of the volume 51 of Persoonia.
You can see more pictures of this and many other stunning Myxomycetes in the gallery of the Myxotropic Project.
Don`t miss the opportunity to let your imagination run wild with these small art pieces!
