March 30, 2022: The Myxomycetes represent a relevant group of microorganisms in tropical areas. However, some very interesting regions, such as the Wayqecha Biological Reserve (EBW) of Peru, have remained underexplored so far. With the aim of gaining knowledge on the myxobiota of this Peruvian reserve, two members of the Myxotropic Project, Dr. Lado and Dr. Treviño, have just published an amazing guide, including morphological descriptions, photos and taxonomic keys, to the main genera and species that inhabit the montane forests of EBW.

We are sure that this tool will be very useful for professionals or amateurs who want to start out in studying these amoeboid protists. You can download this essential guide to your visits to EBW by clicking here.
